Ultimate Prep School huh?
What’s up with that? Well, it seemed to me that the ULTIMATE prep school would be one that prepared you for whatever was going to come next. Not prepare you for the next test, grade or school, but for the long run. For life.
So what does that mean? What does life require? If you ask people who are living life… that means people who’ve been around a bit, long enough to have seen enough people at work and in different situations to know who are the ones that seem to do well, manage their lives well, and who are the ones that always seem on the edge of disaster (late for meetings, miss appointments, always strapped for cash, disorganized, not the “go-getters”). If you ask these people what the common denominator (did you learn THAT?) is for “who seems to be getting on pretty well”, they’ll tell you this (because I’ve asked a bunch of them): resourcefulness, creative thinkers, empathetic, good communicators, self-motivated, problem-solvers. They are the ones who are already off doing something, not sitting around for orders.
So the ultimate prep school will provide you with opportunities to develop these skills and talents. In truly preparing a student for their life, we need to address these key elements of living an optimal life. Traditional schools aren’t doing that. It’s time for a change.
