There are prep schools all over the darn place. What for? What are they prepping for?
A “prep” school is a preparatory school. That’s right. Historically they were meant to “prep” the student for the next level of schooling. A school to get you ready for school. A school to help you do better at that next school. Set you on your way. Neat idea. Big problem. The world AFTER school isn’t like school at all. So prepping FOR SCHOOL is very short sighted.
Okay, we got that.
There are so many news stories, personal anecdotes, and general words spilled today over the MASSIVE failure of schools, that to bring them all here would exhaust this space and then some. Is that merely a rhetorical device of mine? SO I can say that and sound convincing without actually providing any evidence? I promise here to never walk that crooked walk. Need evidence? Just ask me and I’ll point you in the direction of the Evidence Room. You can CSI all you want through the litany of carcasses there.
Watch this space for ideas on what’s to come next. This is where it will come out. No one’s talking about it loud enough yet. It’s time to get started. Children of all ages are struggling, failing, suffering, being made to feel incompetent, invalidated, unwanted, incapable. They are zoning-out, phasing-out. They are dying – either slowly from within or taking their own lives. Enough.
We are each and every one of us a hero. We are each and every one of us a creative genius. Each one of us has a job to do, a story to tell, a life to live and a worthy contribution to make. Let’s prep for that.
